CG, Games and Photography.
It all started in 2006. An undergraduate course called “Introduction to Computer Graphics” and a presentation by Scott Ross, founder and CEO of Digital Domain at that time, sparked my interest in Computer Graphics, and I have been pursuing it ever since.
Right after graduation from my computer science study, I jumped at the first opportunity to work at Digimax, Inc. in Taipei, taking TD (Technical Director / Tool Developer) role to help building asset and animation pipeline for the studio, while also directly involved in asset and shot production in various roles such as rigging, texturing, shading, cloth simulation, and crowd animation.
After leaving Digimax and a short stint at Cheer Digiart, I joined Oriental Dreamworks in Shanghai as Pipeline Technical Director. I was involved in building the pipeline for modeling, rigging, animation, and CFX departments for feature animation and commercial projects.
In 2016 I moved to Wellington, New Zealand and started working at Weta Digital (now Wētā FX) in Creatures Department , mainly doing Creature Effects and Simulation, while also developing and maintaining the pipeline and tools to help our TDs deliver the work.
In January 2022 I joined Unity as part of their deal with Wētā FX and worked under Wētā Digital umberalla as Senior Creature Technical Director.
From December 2023, I am employed again by Wētā FX as Senior Creature Technical Director to continue my work on developing the toolset and pipeline required to advance our Creature Simulation workflow.
My professional interests range from digital creature creation to pipeline development. Feel free to contact me if you have any idea for collaborative projects. Just drop an email to :
